I am currently enrolled in a Business Management for Photographers class here at UCM. I’ve learned a lot so far–the most important thing being that I am NOT a business person and never will be. Most of our class is made up of Portrait majors, which makes it hard for me to relate to the lessons since I am not a people person and do not have any desire to go into the portrait business. I am in the “media” track. Media is what UCM calls editorial photography. I would love to work for a magazine doing nature/scenic/wildlife/animal work. I would also be happy doing photojournalism. Basically I want to do anything but studio work. That being said, I have no desire or ambition to ever open my own business, so it’s hard to be completely serious about making this business plan, using EXACT numbers and proposals, for a fictitious business that I don’t want. On our latest assignment this week, we were required to make 5 different: business cards, letterheads, and logos. I posted my business cards earlier in the week, and I finished the logos today. (I would post the letterheads, but they have my address and phone on them, and I don’t want creepers getting a hold of that!) Let me know which you like the best. I am thinking I might work on them some more and find a design that I really like.
